We Keep Our Commitment to Sustainability by Aiming at Realizing the Dual Goal of "Building a Sustainable Society" and "Securing Sustainable Growth of the Seiren Group". 

At present as various environmental problems including climate change have become serious on a global scale, every enterprise, as part of its important management challenges, needs to commit to conserving the global environment and realizing a sustainable recycling-oriented society.
To achieve sustainability as a member of society, the Seiren Group, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, in addition to ensuring its compliance with all applicable domestic and overseas laws and regulations related to environment, is committed to pursuing its voluntary and proactive environmental conservation activities on a full-scale basis by establishing "Environmental Conservation Philosophy" as the basis of its environmental management in July 1999.
In addition, we set up "Environmental Promotion Committee" in July 2000 to further raise Group-wide environmental awareness to proactively address environmental challenges facing us. Meanwhile we have promoted acquisition of certification of ISO 14001, the International standard for environmental management system (EMS), for all our business sites both at home and overseas, eight (8) major ones of which have obtained such ISO certification. Through the acquisition of ISO 14001 certification, we have actually achieved great results including elimination of environmentally hazardous substances from our products, reduction of CO2 emissions from our production facilities, promotion of energy saving at all our business sites and achievement of zero emissions at our TPF site (General Life Science Station). Furthermore, as part of our efforts, we have developed a Viscotecs system, our original digital production system leveraging IT to realize inventory-free production, and an integrated production system realizing direct distribution from planning and development to fiber making, fabric manufacturing, finishing and sale, which is unrivaled in the world.
These environmentally-conscious systems have made our company a new business model with its environmental quality further increased all through its business activities, including not just offering environmentally-friendly finished products, but also eco-consciously disposing of resulting waste by recovery and recycling.
In order to promote our commitment to addressing not only problems facing the environment, but also issues surrounding sustainability, we set up an ESG Promotion Department in April, 2022 and a Sustainability Committee in May, 2023, while establishing our Basic Sustainability Policy to define our approach to sustainability.  Under our Sustainability promotion organizational structure and in accordance with our Basic Sustainability Policy to proactively tackle ESG and sustainability issues, we will continue to make further efforts toward becoming an "Excellent Company Befitting the 21st Century".
