From the standpoint of protecting humans and the global environment, the Seiren Group is committed to conducting corporate activities in all its processes and organizations, including research and development, production and sales, in such manners that ensure safety and security of not only our employees, but also our customers.

Safety and Health

We are committed to creating a safe and healthy working environment for all our employees so that they may lively work with “Nobi-nobi”, “Iki-iki” and “Pichi-Pichi (which indicates self-motivation, responsibility and commitment, respectively).

We commits to strengthening the employees' field capability which constitutes the basis for value creation through creating a mechanism for working with reduced loss and waste.

Green Procurement Guideline

We commit to promoting global environmental conservation, but our such commitment is not possible with cooperation from our customers.
The Seiren Group is committed to producing environmentally-friendly products by performing the procurement process in compliance with the green procurement guideline.

We shall use any new chemical products for use in our product production only if we obtain the SDS, specifications and Seiren's environmentally hazardous substance report for the chemical products to ensure its compliance with the applicable laws and regulations and relevant customer's requirements in addition to complying with the following requirements: 

  • Acceptance of any new dye or pigment for use in our production only after relevant supplier's written statement regarding whether it needs to be certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®
  • Acceptance of any new chemical products containing any substance required to be labeled or notified by the Industrial Safety and Health Act for use in actual production only after implementation of risk assessment on the chemical or other material and submission of the report on the risk assessment to the relevant plant
    *Updating of the listing of the ”risk-assessment" based accepted chemicals and other materials once every year (in March) for distribution to the relevant plants
  • Acceptance of any new chemical products containing any restricted substance for use in actual production only after decision on whether it is acceptable or not according to its substance's content, application and usage method and, if it is acceptable, submission of report on its acceptance with comments clarifying the reason for its acceptance to the relevant plant
    *Updating of the listing of the accepted restricted-substances containing chemicals products twice every year (in June and December) for distribution to the relevant plants
  • Acceptance of any new chemical products containing any conflict mineral or extended mineral for use our production only after acquisition of CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template)or EMRT(Extended Minerals Reporting Template) for the mineral to confirm that it is not involved in the funding of armed forces
    Conflict minerals(3TG): Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten and Gold
    Extended minerals: Cobalt and Mica
    *Updating of the CMRT or EMRT report for each of the accepted chemical products containing any of conflict minerals and extended minerals once every year (in June for request → in July for collection) for distribution to the relevant plants
  • Acceptance of any chemical products containing any isocyanate group for use in our production only after confirming whether it is likely to form any of specific aromatic amines designated as hazardous substances to decide on whether it is acceptable or not; Acceptance of any chemical or other material containing any heavy metal for use in actual production only after confirming whether leaching of the heavy metal from the chemical or other material is likely to occur to decide on whether it is acceptable or not.

If it becomes necessary to investigate the chemical substances for our production not listed on the Seiren Environmentally Hazardous Substances List for chemical products used in our production, we will promptly collect information from suppliers.

If any revision is made to the applicable laws and regulations or any customer's relevant requirements or specifications, we shall accordingly update the Seiren Enviornmentally Hazardous Substances List by collecting necessary information about all the chemical products accepted for use in our production.
